Avery Hill is a quiet, safe and peaceful space, dominated by avenues of mature trees with an open aspect, over-looked by the unique 19th century Winter Garden.
Avery Hill Park hosts the Greenwich Parkrun – A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! Find out more here:  Greenwich Parkrun website

The Park is open 24/7.
The Café is open 8am – 4pm every day.
The Winter Garden opens 10am – 4pm every day.

There is a 1.5m wide tarmacked footpath round the park, a well-appointed children’s playground, cafe, outdoor gym, multi-use games area. Parking is free in a large car accessed from Bexley Road with level access to the Winter Garden through the terrace gardens.

The park was created in 1904 by the London County Council based around the Winter Garden and estate of Victorian entrepreneur Colonel North.

There is an active Friends group which has regular work parties and species monitoring and in recent years has undertaken numerous projects to improve the park’s amenity and environmental value.
